awards170104Nominations are now welcome for ITS (UK)’s 2017 national awards, which aim to recognise excellence in the field of intelligent transport systems.

Up to four awards will be made at the ITS (UK) Traffex Dinner at the NEC, Birmingham on 4 April.

Nominations are sought in the following categories: the Rees Hills annual award for personal contribution; Young ITS Professional of the Year; Scheme or Product of the Year; and the Forward Thinking award for innovation.

The awards are open to any organisation or individual with a UK business office and that has a significant UK intelligent transport systems content. ITS is defined as the use of IT and communications technologies for surface transport applications.

The nominations will be judged by an eminent panel of ITS professionals representing the whole sector and chaired by ITS (UK) President and former Transport Minister Steven Norris.

Confirmed panel members are Jenny Jebson of Amey, Lucy Yu from the Department for Transport, Kevin Borras of Thinking Highways Magazine and Andy Graham of White Willow Consulting. Dr Tom Cherrett from the University of Southampton and Steve Gooding of the RAC Foundation have also been invited to join the panel.

The closing date for nominations is 23 February. To request a nomination form email mailbox@its-uk.org.uk
