ITS (UK) opens 2015 National Awards nominations

nNorrisJan15Nominations are now welcome for the ITS (UK) 2015 National Awards, which recognise demonstrations of excellence by individuals, schemes and products in the field of intelligent transport systems.

Four awards will be presented by ITS (UK) President and former Transport Minister Steven Norris (pictured right) at the ITS (UK) Traffex Dinner in Birmingham on 21 April. These are:

  • The Rees Hills annual award for personal contribution
  • The young ITS professional of the year award
  • Scheme or product of the year award
  • The Forward Thinking award for innovation

The awards are open to any organisation or individual with a UK business office and that has a significant UK ITS content – defined as the use of IT and communications technologies for surface transport applications.

Mr Norris will also chair a judging panel of ITS professionals, which consists of University of Southampton’s Professor Nick Hounsell, London TravelWatch’s Janet Cooke, Atkins’ Fraser Somerville, ITS (UK)’s Neal Skelton, Transportation Professional’s Jon Masters, Bristol City Council’s Jackie Davis, and Imtech Traffic & Infra’s Helen Blood.
